Who are we?
Mission
Relais Famille is a community organization founded in 1998. Our mission is to help the families and loved ones of people who are detained, awaiting detention or released following imprisonment.
Historical
Hélène Bournival and Claude Lefebvre, respectively a pastoral worker and a priest, at the Centre de Prévention de Montréal, were very often confronted with the harsh reality of the families of the inmates with whom they worked. Having a great need to talk, to be heard, supported and informed but without resources to turn to, Hélène and Claude founded the organization that would help these families. This is how Relais Famille was born. Surrounded by valuable volunteers, Relais Famille opened its doors on October 5, 1998.
